What this policy covers
Who we are
Floors 4 U is a trading name of Suffolk Ceramics Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 06436268. Suffolk Ceramics Ltd decides how the information described here is used, and is responsible for looking after it.
Our registered address is Hale Lodge, Bramford Rd, Little Blakenham, Suffolk, IP8 4JU. That is a registered address for company purposes and not a showroom — we come to you instead.
If you want to talk to us about anything on this page, email info@ipswichflooring.co.uk or call 01473 233 500.
What information we have
We only take what we need to answer you and, if you go ahead, to do the work. When you get in touch about a floor, that is usually:
- your name
- a phone number or email address, so we can get back to you
- the postcode of the property the flooring is for — and its full address, if you choose to give us one
- the company or trading name, if you are enquiring on behalf of a business
- what you are after — the rooms, the sort of floor, and whatever else you tell us about the job
We do not ask for more than that, and we do not take payment details through this website.
Using the website
This website does not set any cookies of its own, and we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking on it. Cookies are dealt with separately in our cookie policy. Like any website, the service that hosts it may keep basic technical records in order to serve pages and keep the site secure.
Why we use it
Data protection law asks us to have a proper reason for using your information. Ours are:
- Answering your enquiry and arranging a home visit
- So we can reply to you, bring the right samples and turn up at a time that suits you.
- Our basisOur legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, which is also why you contacted us.
- Measuring up, quoting and doing the work
- So we can give you a price, and then supply and fit the floor.
- Our basisTaking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, and then carrying that contract out.
- Keeping records of work and payments
- So we can run the business properly and meet the record-keeping duties every business has.
- Our basisOur legitimate interest in keeping proper records, and our legal obligations where the law requires a record to be kept.
We do not send marketing emails or texts, we do not keep a mailing list, and we do not use your information to build a profile of you or to make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we never pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
We may share it:
- with the services we use to run the business — the provider of our email, and the service that delivers enquiries from this website to us — and only as far as they need it in order to provide that service to us
- with someone else involved in your job, where you have asked us to deal with them — a builder, a landlord, or an agent acting for you
- where the law requires it, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim
The service that delivers enquiries from this website to us processes and stores enquiry information in the United States. Our agreement with that service includes the contractual safeguards required for transfers of personal information from the UK.
How long we keep it
We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it. An enquiry that does not turn into work is not kept indefinitely.
Records of work we have carried out, and the financial records that go with them, are kept for longer, because some business records have to be kept for a period set by law.
We have not set out a fixed period for every kind of record here, because that would suggest a precision we do not have. If you want to know how long we are holding something about you, ask us and we will tell you.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable care of the information you give us, and only the people who need it in order to answer your enquiry or carry out the work have access to it.
Your name, your contact details, the address and what you would like doing are exactly what we need, and email is a perfectly sensible way to send them. There is no need to send anything beyond that — please don’t send bank or card details by email, and if something is easier said than typed, just give us a ring.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep
- stop using it, or limit how we use it
- send certain information to you, or to someone else, in a portable form
Not every right applies in every situation — we cannot delete a record the law requires us to keep, for example. If one does not apply we will tell you why.
To ask for any of this, email info@ipswichflooring.co.uk. There is normally nothing to pay, and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first — email info@ipswichflooring.co.uk or call 01473 233 500 — and we will do our best to put it right.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk. Coming to us first does not take that right away.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top of the page is the date it was last changed.
