Larger spaces

The same trade at a different scale

We fit flooring in business premises and other larger spaces as well as in homes. Floors 4 U measures the space, prepares the subfloor and fits the floor.

The two projects below are commercial vinyl and commercial carpet tiles. They are separate jobs, and each is shown on its own terms.

Commercial vinyl

See how the floor comes together

The footage below covers part of this installation, not the whole job. It runs from the latex preparation through the adhesive and the setting out, and stops with roughly half the room laid. The photographs underneath it show the floor finished.

    Latex preparation

    Smoothing compound going down, and being worked flat.

    Adhesive

    Adhesive spread and combed out across the floor.

    The floor set out and the lines got in.

    Laying begins

    Material brought in and laid. By the end of the footage roughly half the room is covered.

Commercial carpet tiles

Carpet tiles, laid square

A different job from the vinyl above. The lines go down before the tiles do, and everything after that follows them.

How a commercial job runs

Measured, prepared, set out, fitted

A commercial floor starts with measuring the space and working out what the subfloor needs. Preparation follows, and much of that work disappears from view once the finished floor is down.

Then the floor is set out: where it starts, which way it runs, where the joins and any change of colour fall. Only after that does anything get laid. Both of the projects above show that stage.
